Mina Lu

CEO, Victoria’s Voice Foundation

Mina Lu is CEO of Victoria Siegel Foundation and Victoria’s Voice, driving the philanthropy of billionaires David and Jackie Siegel after they lost their 18-year-old daughter Victoria to a drug overdose in 2015. Mina led the investment and strategic partnerships for the foundation.  She also headed the development of all the foundation’s programs and projects from its inception as a public charity, guided by its pillars: Drug Education and Media Campaigns for teens and parents, Naloxone Access and Treatment Support, and Drug Policy Change at the national level. Mina brings extensive business and media experience to her role as CEO.

As a serial entrepreneur she has developed the infrastructure focusing on lives impacted and saved as the ROI. As Executive Producer of hit shows on TLC and the CW for more than 10 years, Mina was given the extraordinary ability to develop prevention messaging through powerful video programs for the foundation. Over time, these programs were developed into the Victoria’s Voice virtual education curriculum, which has been well received by some of the largest school districts in the U.S., including Orange County Public Schools in Florida and the Clark County School District in Nevada.

Foundation supported speakers also continue to bring the foundation’s mission and messaging to over 300 schools across 37 states, with the goal of reaching all 50 states. Over 800,000 families have been reached and impacted in barely 3 years. Realizing the value of media, Mina has led a strong media and social media campaign partnering with influencers with more than 100 million followers, developed a Victoria’s Voice App to serve as a central platform, and partnered with the largest syndicated television network in the country, Sinclair Broadcast Group.

With her strong belief in the power of collaboration, Mina has partnered with reputable organizations such as the Las Vegas Raiders, Smiths, UFC, Boys and Girls Clubs, and has worked with government leaders and agencies such as the DEA, ONDCP, HIDTA, Governors, Attorney Generals, Sheriffs and Police Chiefs to focus on the distribution of naloxone, the only antidote to a drug overdose.

The foundation’s programs have generated the support of major corporations such as Pepsi, US Foods and Interval International, to name a few. With the catastrophic rise in overdose deaths from fentanyl, the number one cause of death among Americans age 18 to 45, Mina has led the initiative to secure a Bipartisan federal resolution from both houses of the US congress to declare June , the day Victoria died as National Naloxone Day.

She is committed to working with her team at Victoria’s Voice to follow this up with the launch of a massive media campaign to spread awareness that naloxone is the only way we can immediately protect our family and save lives from fentanyl poisoning through the Get Naloxone, Give Naloxone, Save a Life campaign. In the same vein, Mina is focused on getting naloxone into the hands of every individual and in every establishment where incidences of overdose are more common.

Alongside these efforts, she will continue to drive the distribution of Victoria’s Voice education and awareness programs in all 50 states, with creative private and government partnerships such as the Beauty For Good program associated with the Mrs. America Pageant System and its passionate beauty queens who genuinely want to save lives and serve their communities across the political and business spectrum.

In addition, Mina has formed a collaboration with SHRM, the premier association of HR professionals, who will support the distribution of the foundation’s Vital Signs drug awareness program for parents to the 300,000 member employers, with the potential for impacting 100 million lives.
