Qaisar M. Zaman – Chief Investment Officer, Rakiza Qaisar is the Chief Investment Officer and a founding director of Rakiza, a USD 1Bn specialized infrastructure PE fund. Rakiza has to date invested in a diversified portfolio (KSA: 1.6GW cogeneration plants; Oman: national gateway container terminal in Sohar; independent telecom tower company; broadband fibre-network operator; and wholesale fresh produce market and national logistics hub). Qaisar has 30+ years experience in investment banking and PE, in Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia. He has led debt financings in excess of USD 35Bn, and invested and exited infrastructure investments in the UK and US totaling USD 7Bn. His last role was managing oil and gas public infrastructure projects on behalf of the Sovereign Wealth Fund in Bahrain. One of his key achievements was founding Arcapita’s Infrastructure Investments business, where he led some of its largest and most successful investments and exits totaling circa USD 5Bn. In his role as a GM Investments at the Oil & Gas Holding Company of Bahrain, Qaisar successfully led the debut issuances in both the bank and capital markets as well as project finance debt for various portfolio projects. Prior to this, Qaisar has held vice president roles at JP Morgan Chase & Co and the Chase Manhattan Bank. Qaisar holds an MBA in Finance from Arizona State University, USA and a MIM in International Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management, USA and a BSc in Computer Science from University of Bahrain.
